What are Ritual Games?

Ritual games invite us into lives filled with imagination, play, and stronger connections of many kinds. They are games because there are rules, choices, characters, and goals, and rituals, as the game is held in a longer-term story arc and includes practices that bridge imagination and everyday life.

Each game lasts at least 30 days and supports groups of 2 to 6 participants, plus a game facilitator.

Games include:

  • Creating characters that reflect elements of who we are and are distinct from our own identities

  • Immersing in stories and symbols that guide us through the game and help us focus on specific dimensions of our characters’ evolution

  • Confronting challenges and choices, designed to help us approach specific areas of life (like health, work, home, identity, etc.) from new perspectives

  • Playing with chance elements, such as dice, cards, and wheels of fortune

  • Repeated ritual actions like drawing, movement, storytelling, singing, observing our surroundings, and keeping a record, to help integrate visionary and practical realms

We are currently in the process of piloting ritual games and are seeking partnerships! Submit a message below if you’re interested in the pilot and/or subscribe for general updates.

“Play is a sacred act. When we are playing, the essence of all creation flows freely through us. We are expressing our true nature and connecting with the very core of our existence. Nothing is more spiritual than that.”

— Victor Shamas, Psychologist
