Ritual Games

Ritual games are 15-30 day play-based rituals that involve exploring challenges in personalized, fun, and unconventional ways.

Rites of Passage

Rites of Passage containers last a minimum of 4 months and support you to explore your power, purpose , and relationships through cycles of change.

Note: If we haven’t worked together before, I recommend beginning with a Ritual Game. These games help clarify intentions, resources, and tools before entering a Rites of Passage container.

Hi, I’m Zoë!

My name is Zoë Ackerman (she/they) and I am a Ritual Educator and Artist. I draw on over a decade of experience in participatory design, rites of passage, and embodied storytelling. Originally from Charlottesville, Virginia, I now live in Curitiba, Brazil, on the ancestral lands of the Guarani, Kaingang, and Xetá peoples.

How do I book a ritual* game?

  • This 30-minute call is a chance to meet each other, learn about ritual games, reflect on how you’d like to play, and share any challenges you're currently navigating.

  • Start the game design process by submitting a $50 deposit. This covers:

    • Your personalized game + guidebook

    • A live walkthrough session

  • After your initial consult, you’ll receive your personalized game and a short guidebook within two weeks.

We’ll then meet live to walk through how to begin.

    You can choose:

    • $100 for 15 days of play, or

    • $200 for 30 days of play.

Should you decide to play with accompaniment, the balance (in full or $20/month for 5 or 10 months) or a skill-exchange agreement at a lower rate covers:

    • Ongoing 1:1 support via text or email for 6 weeks

    • Option to book weekly 30-minute check-ins

    • A 60-minute closing call after you complete the game

  • You’ll play the game in 5 to 10 minute daily play sessions and/or in longer sessions a few times a week. I’ll check in via messaging to help it stay fun, purposeful, and doable. You have the option to book another 30-minute session halfway through.

  • At the end of the game, we'll have a 60-minute live session, where we'll wrap up the game in a playful way and reflect on what you learned.

Note: This call needs to be scheduled within 6 weeks of submitting your balance.

*Runa rituals are open to people of any or no faith and are not tied to a specific tradition or fixed beliefs but instead offer flexible frameworks that help you identify your own questions, supportive tools, and ways of making meaning.

“Building a ritual with Zoë was incredibly transformative. I left feeling so much more centered and grounded than when I began.”

“Ritual grew up in sacred play; poetry was born in play and nourished on play; music and dancing were pure play. We have to conclude, therefore, that civilization in its earliest phases, played.”
